Distinctive fabrics and wallpapers from Lewis & Wood

Lewis & Wood Stand: P18
Distinctive fabrics and wallpapers from Lewis & Wood

For more than 30 years, Lewis & Wood has created distinctive fabrics and wallpapers from its mill in Woodchester, Gloucestershire. Rooted in a particularly English approach to decoration, which is layered, characterful and quietly confident, the company is known for designs with a sense of history, authenticity and longevity rather than passing fashion.

Its extensive archive brings together original artwork, historic references and collaborations with artists and designers, creating collections rich in narrative and detail. Lewis & Wood’s connections with institutions including the V&A reflect a longstanding appreciation of British decorative heritage, craftsmanship and the enduring power of pattern.

Crucially, design and production sit together under one roof. From the initial design and colour development through to printing, Lewis & Wood retains an unusually close relationship with its product, allowing the studio considerable flexibility when working on bespoke and commercial projects.

Alongside its established collections, beloved by interior designers working on residential projects, Lewis & Wood has developed a dedicated commercial offer for the hospitality market, combining the individuality of its designs with the performance required for demanding hotel environments. Any Lewis & Wood design can be adapted and colour-matched for use across specialist contract bases, including FR-compliant drapery and bedding fabrics, high-performance upholstery cloths and extra-wide contract vinyl wallcoverings.

Its upholstery options include robust, high-rub-count qualities designed for heavily used spaces, while specialist printing techniques provide excellent colour penetration and durability. This gives designers the opportunity to introduce richly patterned, highly individual interiors without sacrificing the technical performance required for bedrooms, restaurants, bars and other high-traffic areas.

Lewis & Wood has supplied and worked with leading names within the hospitality sector, including Rocco Forte, Firmdale Hotels and Soho House, and increasingly works directly with hotel groups, interior designers and architectural practices to develop solutions for both refurbishment and new-build projects.

The result is a commercial collection that feels refreshingly removed from the generic: beautifully drawn designs, depth of colour and an unmistakable decorative pedigree, supported by the technical specifications required by the modern hospitality industry.

Lewis & Wood welcomes designers and clients to its Chelsea Harbour showroom, as well as to The Mill in Gloucestershire, where the company’s design studio and printing operation offer a rare insight into a British interiors business in which creativity and manufacture remain closely connected.
