Founded in 1988 by Andrew and Sarah Hills, Porta Romana has continuously grown and evolved. From humble beginnings in a small UK workshop, to creating a lighting installation for the Royal Academy of Arts — the team has designed iconic and unique pieces for countless hotels, restaurants, and residences around the world.

Collaborating with exceptional artists and makers from across the British Isles sits at the heart of their creative process. Every glassblower, ceramicist, metalworker, or sculptor brings their expert knowledge and craft to the fabrication of their designs.

Their in-house painting studio is equally central to their artistry. It is here they have spent over thirty-five years building on the craft of hand-painted decoration, developing a unique library of custom painted finishes now synonymous with Porta Romana’s distinctive designs.
