Secto Design brings the new Octo Tre to HIX Europe

Finnish lighting company Secto Design returns to HIX Europe with a selection of its wooden lighting collection, including the new Octo Tre pendant, presented in the UK for the first time.

Octo Tre is the latest addition to the Octo family, following the original Octo 4240 and Octo Small 4241. The new pendant brings the familiar character of the Octo collection to a more compact scale, opening up new possibilities for hospitality interiors and spaces where a smaller luminaire is called for.

Like the wider Secto Design collection, Octo Tre is made from PEFC-certified Finnish birch. Its wooden slats form an airy structure around the light source, which remains hidden from view to prevent glare. The result is warm, softly diffused light and a distinctive play of light and shadow.

At HIX, Secto Design will also explore an idea that sits at the heart of its approach to lighting: how relatively little material can have a considerable effect on the atmosphere of a space. The stand will illustrate the materials and components that go into a Secto Design lamp, making the relationship between material, structure and the resulting presence of the luminaire tangible.

Alongside Octo Tre, visitors can discover a selection of established designs from the Secto Design collection and see how different scales and forms can be used across hospitality environments.

Secto Design lamps are designed in Finland and produced at the company’s own factory in Heinola, using Finnish birch and skilled local production.

Octo Tre – a new, compact interpretation of the Octo pendant

Secto Design introduces Octo Tre, the newest member of the Octo product line and the most compact interpretation of the pendant lamp designed by architect Seppo Koho.

Octo Tre brings the characteristic form of Octo and Octo Small to a more condensed scale. Its gently rounded silhouette and airy wooden structure retain the distinctive character of the original while opening up new possibilities for spaces where a smaller pendant is needed.

With its compact proportions, Octo Tre works naturally on its own and particularly well in compositions. Multiple pendants can be arranged to create rhythm, depth and atmosphere through light, making the new size versatile for hospitality interiors as well as residential settings.

Like the other Octo pendants, Octo Tre is handmade from PEFC-certified Finnish birch at Secto Design's own factory in Heinola, Finland. The light source is concealed within the wooden structure to prevent glare and create a warm, softly diffused light.
