HIX 2024: A Sense of Place
What's the difference between a space and a place? Space might indicate the size and composition of an interior, but it is only when brought to life with lived human experience that it truly becomes a place. We say ‘the place to be', not ‘the space to be' for this very reason, and while spaces can excite and intrigue, it is the places they become that really stay with us.
This is especially true in hotels, where an increasingly close focus on locale sees designers, architects, developers and operators alike more invested in this process than ever before.
That's why we've chosen ‘a sense of place' as the guiding theme for HIX 2024, with every element of the show – from our immersive installations and insightful panel discussions to show-floor activations and networking parties – informed by the transformative power of place.
Returning to London's Business Design Centre on 26 & 27 November, Hotel Interior Experience (HIX) 2024 will showcase the best new hotel products from Europe's leading design labels; a curated one-stop shop featuring everything you need to turn your next space into a resonant place.
This theme and concept will also guide the debut edition of HIX KSA, the first international HIX event with a focus on the exciting MEA market. Taking place on 18-20 February 2025 at Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Arena, HIX KSA will explore a sense of place through a different lens, addressing the major challenges and opportunities facing the region's leading hospitality designers, operators, architects and developers.
Running parallel, our curated HIX Talks programme will explore this process through conversations and keynotes featuring the hospitality industry's brightest minds, covering topics including responsible tourism, sustainable construction, and the value of hospitality programming as part of a two-day agenda asking questions like: What does ‘place' mean in a global industry? What kind of places will the next generation of guests seek out? And how can a sense of place be communicated with guests and locals alike?
Likewise, our immersive hospitality concept installations will expand on this theme with a selection of pop-up experiences created in collaboration with some of the industry's leading studios that address the unique history of both HIX's home neighbourhood and the heritage of London's Business Design Centre.
Join HIX favourites including Ligne Roset, Gessi, Panaz and Chelsom along with newcomers like Secto Design, Frandsen, Bensen, Arte and Edinburgh Weavers to discover the essential hotel interior products for hospitality design's next chapter, as well as stand parties, activations and more.
Let's make this space a place – Register to attend HIX 2024 for free and discover the next generation of hotel interior experiences.
