Bryony Spottiswoode

Director of Architecture, Design Services – Europe, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

Bryony Spottiswoode is Director of Architecture, Design Services – Europe at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where she leads renovations, conversions and new builds of hotel and residential projects across the Four Seasons’ European portfolio that includes some of the brand’s most storied properties, such as the George V in Paris, Hotel des Bergues in Geneva and Gresham Palace in Budapest.

A qualified architect, Bryony has over 15 years’ experience spanning architectural practice, luxury hospitality and client-side development. Prior to joining Four Seasons, she was Projects Director at Maybourne and an Associate Director at Hopkins Architects, where she spent eight years working on The Peninsula London. Her experience also includes work on Claridge’s, The Berkeley  and a number of other complex heritage projects.

Bryony has a particular interest in the thoughtful restoration and evolution of historic hotels: preserving the character, craftsmanship and provenance that make them distinctive, while sensitively incorporating modern technology, contemporary design thinking and the operational demands of luxury hospitality. Her focus is on ensuring these icons continue to evolve for the modern luxury traveller without losing the qualities that made them exceptional in the first place.
