HIX 2025: Culture Clash

While hospitality might be a global industry, each continent, country, region and even neighbourhood holds its own unique legacy, and its own take on what constitutes a great stay.

The values and customs that characterise these interpretations – often developed over thousands of years and informed by rich social traditions and communal heritage – have formed the core for some of the world’s most celebrated projects, brands end experiences.

From the Japanese concept of omotenashi that centers hospitality around care rather than expectation, to the Athithi Devo Bhava principles of India that see guests considered as gods, hotels showcase the best a culture has to offer in one of the most important measures of its success – how it looks after others.

Exploring the intersection of hospitality, design, history and philosophy, our theme this year is a celebration of such cultures, and the power of authentic hospitality narratives in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Guiding every element of our 2025 programme, from the concepts behind our immersive installations to the soundtracks at our parties, ‘Culture Clash’ will see the HIX show floor transformed into a kaleidoscope of hotel heritage, taking guests on a journey through the ideas and aesthetics that have defined these distinct identities.
